An Atherton home care provider for people with dementia is celebrating being named amongst the UK's best for the seventh year on the trot.

Belong at Home Atherton, is a not-for-profit community group run by dementia specialists, Belong.

The group supports people in their homes and residents of Belong village apartments.

Its success was judged on independent reviews on comparison website, homecare.co.uk, and placed Belong at Home amongst the Top 20 Large & Mid-size Home Care Groups 2024.

This makes it the only non-profit service in the country to have received the award every year since 2018.

One daughter of a client said: "Staff have provided excellent support for my mum, who has mixed dementia.

"All the staff are caring yet friendly and professional, and my mum feels very at ease with the carers that visit.

"I highly recommend Belong at Home Atherton."

Another added: "From day one, I had complete confidence that Dad's needs would be met and his care would be of the highest standard.

"They went above and beyond, sometimes in challenging circumstances.

"I can't thank the staff enough for the care and love they showed my dad and the support they gave me."

In addition to one-to-one personal care, the carers help with housekeeping, food preparation, and even run errands.

The carers also assist with outings and provide companionship, while the care service offers Experience Days at its Belong village, even arranging transport for clients.

Andrew Shield, head of operations at the group, said: "We are very pleased that the hard work and dedication of our teams is recognised by our customers and their families, and we are grateful for their feedback – it really is encouraging.

"They are the experts in what they need, and we are privileged to support them to live their lives as independently as they can."

The care group is currently continuing its ongoing recruitment drive, creating opportunities for support workers and training roles for people in the community.

It is also one of the few care providers to pay colleagues for travel time between appointments.
