AN INSPIRATIONAL man who has "not let his disability hold him back" embarked on an incredible 'Superhero triathlon' last weekend.

A motocross lover and self-described "adrenaline junkie", Michael Reynolds suffered a horror crash in 2013 after a race crash left him with a broken back and paralysed from the chest down.

However, despite the pain of his injuries, Michael has not been one to dwell on the past and he went on to become the motocross disability world champion in 2016.

In recent years, the former Leigh East rugby league player has also become a dad to his young son Ronnie and is engaged to his partner Becci.

On Saturday, August 17 the 36-year-old pushed himself to the limit for a Superhero triathlon around Dorney Lake in Windsor.

Taking place on Saturday, August 17, Michael completed an incredible 750m swim, a 20k cycle on an electric-assisted bike, and a 5km wheelchair push.

After Michael's back-breaking injury 11 years ago, he took on the gruelling challenge for the Spinal Injuries Association, a charity that helps people affected by spinal cord injury to live fulfilled lives.

Michael's friend and colleague, Craig Kerfoot said: "Michael always lives life to the full and does not let his disability hold him back from doing the things he loves, such as motorbike racing, off road racing, jumps and downhill biking.

"When he had his accident he never let it get him down, and he has been back to the hospital to thank the staff and talk to people.

"He truly is an inspiration and an amazing friend and dad."
