FOUR more people have been charged with violent disorder following the events in Southport and Liverpool this summer.

Riots and disorder erupted across the country in July, following misinformation that was spread online following the stabbings of six-year-old Bebe King, seven-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe and nine-year-old Alice Da Silva Aguiar.

Police were injured and damage was caused to property in several episodes of unrest.

In Merseyside, detectives have been investigating incidents of violent disorder in Southport and Liverpool and have charged four more people from the North West.

Daniel Frazer, 24 years, of Seafield Road, New Ferry was arrested, charged, and remanded for violent disorder in Liverpool.

Three more people have arrested and charged with violent disorder in Southport, including Callum Savage, 24 years, of Haig Avenue, Leyland in Preston, Shannon Gibson, 58 years, of Beech Hill Avenue, Wigan, and Ben Gibson, 32 years, of Almond Brook Road, Standish, Wigan.

This takes the total number of people arrested by Merseyside Police to 105, with 68 charged. There has been a quick process to charge those found guilty and there has been a collective 101 years of sentencing for the 46 people who have been sentenced so far.

All four suspects have been remanded into custody to appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court on Monday, September 16.

Detective Chief Inspector Tony Roberts said: "Without the public's help, we would not have been able to bring these people to justice and put them behind bars.

"However, there is still more work to be done and our investigation continues."

Images and footage are still being worked through so those with information are asked to contact police via the public portal here, calling 101, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
