LEIGH Leopards have made it into the Betfred Super League semi-finals for the first time in their history.

Their gripping win in the eliminator at Salford on Friday booked their place in Saturday's semi at current champions Wigan.

They are now 80 tough minutes away from a first Grand Final appearance at the Old Trafford Theatre of Dreams.

Club owner Derek Beaumont said: “It’s an amazing achievement for the club and the town and perhaps rather apt that we face our neighbours for another Battle of the Borough, this time to decide which of our elite professional clubs will represent us at Old Trafford in our 50th year anniversary of the Wigan and Leigh Borough.

“We have achieved so many records and milestones over the last two years as the Leopards and maybe ironically the only team we have never beaten as the Leopards is our friendly neighbours Wigan Warriors.

“I call upon all our townsfolk to get behind the team in massive numbers and show your support to the boys in what could prove to be their last dance, although with a great performance we could earn the right to an encore at Old Trafford!

“Your support can really make a difference so grab your friends and family and let’s get the Brick Community Stadium sold out with our respective fans! It’s a great opportunity to show the size of our club and its army of supporters.”

Leigh have been allocated 4,837 tickets in the North Stand .

Once that is sold out Leigh will be able to take a further allocation in a different area of the stadium that is located closest to the away end.
