ALL lanes have reopened and barrier repairs are complete following a serious collision on Thelwall Viaduct.
Lane closures have been in place for most of the day on the northbound carriageway between junction 20, Lymm, and junction 21, Woolston, after a lorry left the motorway and fell 60 feet yesterday evening, Monday.
A major recovery operation has been under way throughout the day with lanes closed while the repair works have been carried out to the damaged barrier.
Commuters have been warned of significant delays today which has impacted traffic in and around Warrington.
National Highways has confirmed that the repair works have now been completed and that all lanes on the carriageway have reopened.
Recovery of the HGV that fell from Thelwall Viaduct is being done via 'local roads'.
A spokesperson said: "The barrier repairs on the M6 north Junction 20 Lymm to Junction 21 Warrington following the earlier collision are now complete.
"The HGV that left the Thelwall Viaduct is being recovered using local roads.
"All lanes have been reopened with residual delays of up to 20 minutes on the approach."
