A woman in her 20s has died, police have confirmed, after emergency services were called to a concern for welfare report in Atherton this morning, Wednesday.
Police and North West Ambulance Service responded to reports of concern for welfare at an address on Oxford Road at 11.25am.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “At around 11.40am today (October 9), we responded to reports of a concern for the welfare of a woman on Oxford Road, Atherton.
“Sadly, despite the best efforts of emergency services, a woman in her 20s was pronounced dead shortly after.
“There are not currently believed to be any suspicious circumstances at this time. Enquiries are ongoing.”
A spokesperson from Northwest Ambulance Service said: “We have attended an incident at a private address on Oxford Road following a call at 11.25."
