A POPULAR bistro restaurant reopens today just over a year after its sudden closure.
In September 2023, Courtyard Bistro announced with "heavy hearts" that the restaurant would close with immediate effect.
Launched on Stone Cross Lane North in 2011, the Courtyard described itself as "more than just a restaurant", where "memories were made, friendships were forged, and love was shared over delectable dishes".
Its "difficult decision" to close the restaurant had a huge response on social media, highlighting how popular the business was with customers.
However, just over 12 months after its closure, the Courtyard is back open for business today (Thursday, October 10).

Although no information has yet been released regarding the new owners or management, the Courtyard has published its new menus on social media.
With bookings and reservations now available,, the main menu includes options such as fillet of haddock, chicken cesar salad, and cheese and onion pie.
The Sunday menu includes the classic Sunday Roast, as well as steak and burger options.
Additionally, the Courtyard has released details about a £28.95 bottomless brunch, which provides three plates with unlimited draught lager, house wine, or prosecco on Saturday afternoons.
With the Courtyard planning to reopen on Thursdays and Fridays from 5pm, and from 1pm over the weekend, many customers have expressed their excitement over the business' reopening.
Summing up a common feeling, Michelle Malley said: "Fab news and great for Lowton."
To celebrate the restaurant's reopening, customers who visit the business today are welcome to a free bottle of house wine.
