A LEIGH based software company is working on a project to develop a state-of-the-art tool for mine clearance.

With Nemiah working alongside MiFi Maps, a Manchester-based company that has expertise in real-time kinematic tracking, the collaborative project is developing technology to provide a precise mapping of mines.

Combined with precise angle and distance measuring sensors to verify the exact orientation of the detector, this tool will be crucial in mine clearance operations, as being off by even a small distance can be a matter of life and death.

The company was also successful in acquiring funding through the GM LINK programme to develop an energy-efficient building platform, and the MiFi Maps project aims to help make the world a safer place through accurate mine tracking.
