MOTORISTS are facing long delays this morning due to emergency repairs being carried out on a road.
The works are taking place on Newbrook Road in Atherton.
There is queuing traffic and long delays are being caused for motorists.
One motorist told the Journal this morning: "I've been stuck in traffic at Atherton trying to get into Bolton for about 40 minutes, it is not moving."
Live traffic tracker Inrix states: "A579 Newbrook Road both ways partially blocked, very slow traffic due to emergency repairs at Hulton Park."
