THE grief stricken son of a woman who was found dead after going missing near Pennington Flash has paid tribute to her.
Jane Burton's body was found after search in Pennington Flash Nature Reserve on Tuesday November 12. She had been reported missing at around 2am that same day.
The search to find Jane, originally from the Cheshire area, saw emergency crews and police helicopters searching Pennington Flash and nearby woodland.
Police later confirmed that officers searching for Jane found a body and said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.
In a public tribute on Facebook, her son Matt Burton said: “I still can’t believe this is happening. It’s anyone’s worst nightmare.
“I just want to thank everyone who helped search for my beautiful mum at Pennington Flash today, it made me so proud of our community.
“The outcome feels like my hearts been ripped out. You were my best friend, my confident, drinking buddy and just the best mum I could have asked for.
“You had friends who adored you, nieces and a nephew that idolised you. You were so special.
“Josh, Mitch and I love you so much, we will do whatever we can to make you proud always.”
