A community bowling club has won an award for its community service.
Butts Park Community Bowling Club was given the King's Award for Community Service for its efforts in helping the Leigh community.
The club, which has 45 members, has been at Butts Park on Sanderson Croft since 2013, and has been developing its facilities ever since.
Chairman of the club, Gordon Clough, said: "We are delighted to receive this award as a recognition of our efforts to develop the site and work with key partners not only to develop bowling as a sport but also to support our local community."
The club is also working with Wigan Council and Bedford High School to encourage interest in bowling as a sport.
The club has strong links to the Rotary Club of Leigh, and hosts Police Community Liaison meetings.
