ASTLEY & Tyldesley cycle speedway got back to winning ways in the Northern League with a 81-69 victory at Stockport on Sunday.
The match was closely fought, in strong windy conditions and on a dry track that cut up.
A & T held a slender 4 points lead after heat 12, before pulling clear in the last three races to secure the win. Remi Burchardt raced unbeaten, with both Darek Kurkowski and Tomasz Wlodarczyk losing once each and great support from Mick Knowles, winner of two races.
A young and inexperienced A & T team were heavily beaten by Stockport in the Combination match, 83-37. Ben Dickenson was the only A & T rider to beat an opponent.
Club training nights continue to be held every Tuesday evening at the track located adjacent to the Astley & Tyldesley Miners' Welfare Club, in Gin Pit Village.
