Astley and Tyldesley Cycle Speedway hosted the fifth and final round of the Northern Grand Prix series at a sunny Gin Pit.
Despite heavy rain during much of the preceding week, the track was in superb condition for the event yesterday.
This is one series that A & T have put low on their priority list, due to other commitments, so no A & T riders were in the overall series winners, although Ben Dickenson took a great win in the Combination Grand Prix Final, beating his more experienced rivals.
A & T wrap up their 2008 season with a vital Northern League clash against league leaders Stoke.
The match takes place next Sunday at Gin Pit and promises to be a cracker, as A & T inflicted Stoke's only defeat of the season at Stoke in August.
Stoke need a win to keep their title challenge alive, whilst A & T need a win to secure 3rd place in the final league table.
Racing starts at 2 pm with the Combination (2nd team) match, followed by the 1st team match at 3 pm.
