ASTLEY and Tyldesley Cycle Speedway Club hosted the third round of the Manchester League Grand Prix Series on a very wet night at Gin Pit.
The track held up well after several days of heavy rain and plenty of good racing was dished up under the Gin Pit floodlights.
Stockport took their first win of the series in the Division One (senior) match, with A&T pipping Sheffield, winners of the first two rounds, by a single point.
Result: Stockport 38, Astley and Tyldesley 21, Sheffield 20, Bury 0.
Current Division One positions after three rounds: Sheffield 9, Astley and Tyldesley 8, Stockport 6, Bury 3.
There was a good turn-out of riders for the Division Two (junior categories) match, necessitating in 32 races being held over three matches.
A&T took their second win of the series, beating Stockport and Sheffield, with Bury not present.
Adam Watson raced unbeaten in the under 10s category, while Ben Dickenson raced unbeaten in the under 19s category.
Result: Astley and Tyldesley 75, Stockport 67, Sheffield 58, Bury 0.
