ASTLEY and Tyldesley Cycle Speedway Club were bolstered by the inclusion of Remi Burchardt and Dariusz Pilas for the trip to Bury for Sunday's Northern League match.
The two Poles both raced to impressive 20 points maximum scores.
After a tight first half, Bury held a one-point interval lead.
The home side took two 7-3 heat wins in the second half and with most other races shared, that proved decisive as Bury ran out 93-86 winners.
Ben Dickenson won his last race to finish on 14 points but the absence of one more high-scoring rider proved costly for A&T.
The Combination match at Gin Pit earlier in the season finished all square and it proved to be almost as close before A&T ran out 60-59 winners on Sunday.
Dickenson raced unbeaten, with Jamson losing once.
A&T were well represented in the second national round of the British Youth and Junior League Series at wet Sandwell.
In the under eights category, Adam Turnbull scored 14 points in the qualifiers and finished third in the A final, while Max Evans chalked up 15 and was fourth in the A final with Tyler Koch scoring 11 and ending third in the D final.
Adam Watson raced unbeaten in the under 10s qualifiers, scoring 16 points and went on to finish fourth in the A final.
Adam Phillips notched 12 in the under 12s qualifiers and won the C final, while Laura Watson registered 12 in the girls’ category qualifiers and won the B final.
In the under 18s category, Ben Dickenson gained eight in the qualifiers and won the C fina, Luke Jamson collected nine points and took third place in the C final, while Matthew Turnbull scored five points and finished fourth in the D final.
The finals that were not raced at Norwich in the first round were raced off.
Laura Watson came second in the girls’ B final, while in the under 18s category Ben Dickenson finished second in the B final and Luke Jamson was second in the C final.
