Astley and Tyldesley hosted the fourth round of the Manchester League Grand Prix series at Gin Pit on Wednesday evening, with an excellent turn-out ensuring a schedule of 48 races on the night.
A and T’s Adam Phillips raced unbeaten in the under 13s match, whilst Matthew Turnbull of A and T was unbeaten in the under 19s match.
Once again, it was a very close Division Two (junior) match and Stockport pipped A and T by two points to win, with Bury third.
Racing in the Northern Junior Grand Prix series third round at Heckmondwike on Sunday, Joel Partington raced unbeaten in the under 13s category.
Matthew Turnbull dropped just one point in the under 19s match, whilst Adam Turnbull was beaten just twice in the under 10s category.
This coming Sunday sees Astley and Tyldesley take on Edinburgh in a junior challenge match at Gin Pit.
First race is at 4.30pm, at the track at the Astley and Tyldesley Miners’Welfare Club, Meanley Road, Gin Pit, Astley. M29 7DW.
Northern Junior League match result: Stockport 97, Hull 71, Bury 56, Astley and Tyldesley 45, Sheffield 13, Heckmondwike 12.
Manchester League Division Two match result: Stockport 76, Astley and Tyldesley 74, Bury 58.
