LEIGH Genesis play their first fixture in 10 days tomorrow night, Tuesday, when they make the short trip to face local rivals Prescot Cables in a vital Evo-Stik League First Division North encounter.
With no fixture scheduled last weekend and last week's home game with Mossley postponed, Alan Kershaw's Leigh side will be looking to extend their unbeaten run to four games after 1-1 draws at home to Chester and away to Woodley Sports in their last two outings, with the latter featuring a debut goal for new striker Stuart Rudd.
Rudd will have a new partner in attack with Nathan McDonald suspended following his red card in last month's 3-2 win over Trafford, but that is likely to be Kershaw's only selection concern as his side look to get the three points that would take Genesis above second-bottom Ossett Albion.
Hosts Prescot are similarly desperate to start claiming some league points after a 6-0 thumping at Wakefield on Saturday saw Cables drop to third-bottom, two points behind Cammell Laird albeit with two games in hand.
The last meeting of the sides came in November 2009 when a stunning second half performance saw Leigh run out 4-0 victors to go with their 6-0 win over Prescot earlier in that season.
Kick off at Valerie Park on Tuesday evening is at 7.45pm, with admission costing £7 for adults, £4 for over 65's and students and £2 for under 16's, with a family ticket of one adult and two children costing a total of £10. Live match updates will be available at twitter.com/leighgenesisfc.
- Please note that Saturday's fixture with Radcliffe Borough is now an AWAY fixture and will take place at Radcliffe's Stainton Park home with a 3pm kick off (19th February). The return fixture between the sides will now take place at Crilly Park on Tuesday 12th April with a 7.45pm kick off.
