Leigh Genesis 3 Warrington Town 3
A LAST minute equaliser from former Leigh Genesis striker Gavin Salmon earned a dramatic point for Warrington at Crilly Park.
Leigh fell behind after 12 minutes when Mike Duffy was left unmarked at the back post to fire past Genesis goalkeeper Andy Farrimond.
Warrington doubled their lead two minutes later when a driving run from Duffy created space to lay a pass on for Craig Davies to slot the ball into Farrimond's bottom right-hand corner.
The early goalfest continued with Leigh halving the deficit three minutes later.
Neil Smith latched on to a Nathan McDonald through ball to power the ball past Warrington goalkeeper Paul Pritchard in the 17th minute.
Genesis were back on level terms within three minutes of the second half.
Nathan McDonald unleashed a screamer of a shot from 25 yards, giving Pritchard no chance.
Leigh's tails were up and Nathan McDonald was again at the hub of the action when they deservedly took the lead on 74 minutes.
He doggedly chased the ball against Adam Wade, narrowly managed to keep the ball inside the field of play and then squared it for brother Marvin McDonald to lash the ball home.
Warrington’s equaliser came with a terrific strike from distance from Salmon.
Genesis' last game of the season is away to Clitheroe tomorrow, Friday, kick off 3pm.
