ASTLEY and Tyldesley Cycle Speedway Club’s youngsters gave a good account of themselves when Stockport hosted the sixth and final round of the Manchester League Grand Prix series on Wednesday.
A&T’s Adam Turnbull raced to a 16 points maximum score in the under 10s category, to clinch the overall series in fine style.
Thomas Whitwam narrowly missed out on taking third place in the overall under 10s category.
British under 13s individual champion Adam Phillips scored a 16 points maximum in the under 13s event, to go through the entire six round series without dropping a single point.
Reece Pollitt’s tally of 14 points secured him third place overall in the under 13s series.
Luke Jamson held on to his third place overall in the under 19s series, despite missing the round.
Stockport won both the Division One (senior) and Division Two (junior) matches, to take the overall series wins in the team events.
Astley and Tyldesley continue to hold weekly club practice sessions at the Gin Pit circuit on Tuesdays at 7pm.
