HEATHER Frederiksen has secured another London 2012 Paralympic swimming silver medal with a brilliant performance in the women's 100m S8 freestyle at the Aquatics Centre.
The Leigh swimmer could not keep the pace with her American nemesis and eventual gold-medal winner Jessica Long, but held off a late challenge from bronze medallist Elliott Maddison to win silver with a time of 1min 8.07seconds.
The result means the 26-year-old member of the City of Salford Swimming Club now has three London 2012 medals, with tonight's silver adding to the gold won in the S8 100m backstroke and her silver in the 400m S8 freestyle.
