Only Fools and Horses star Nick Lyndhurst has made a return to acting in the reboot of a popular US sitcom.

The hit UK series ran for 22 years from 1981 to 2003.

Lyndhurst hasn't been seen in any acting roles for a number of years following the death of his 19-year-old son Archie, who died of a brain haemorrhage in 2020.

Only Fools and Horses star Nick Lyndhurst returns to acting in US sitcom alongside "best friend"

Now Lyndhurst has returned to acting taking on a role in the reboot of popular US sitcom Frasier.

The Only Fools and Horses star plays Alan Cornwall in the show alongside Kelsey Grammer who returns to his role as Doctor Frasier Crane.

Grammer, in a recent interview with Deadline, said Lyndhurst was his "best friend" and he would have done anything to have him a part of the Frasier reboot.

He said: "He’s stealth warfare. He is just the sneakiest most talented actor I’ve ever worked with.

"We worked previously together in London on the musical, Man of La Mancha. We made plans to get [our partners] together and we became best friends.

"So when the idea of Frasier having a best friend came into the mix, it was always Nicholas.

"I asked him when we were back in England before we even started if he would like to be in the new Frasier.

"He said, 'Are you kidding? I would do anything to work with you again every day for the rest of my life.' The feeling is mutual."
