LEIGH Sports Village has provided a training facility for some high-profile teams in its short lifespan but none preparing for an occasion as big as Saturday's Rugby League World Cup Final at Manchester United's Old Trafford home.
New Zealand, England's heartbreakers at Wembley at the weekend, were in town this afternoon to make use of Leigh's top venue in their continued bid to defend the world crown they lifted in Australia five years ago.
Treading Leigh turf along with sporting icon like Sonny Bill Williams was the likes of leading hooker Issac Luke and scrum half Shaun Johnson, the man whose last-gasp try and conversion in Saturday's semi final sent England out of the competition
More than 70,000 rugby league fanatics will be at the Theatre of Dreams on Saturday to see if the Kiwis can sink tournament favourites Australia for the second successive tournament.
If they do, Leigh will have played a small part!
