ASTLEY & Tyldesley’s Emily Burgess rode to a superb six ride maximum score, as she led the combined North & East team to victory in Sunday’s Women’s League Round 3 match at Newport.
Emily teamed up with partner Chloe Pearce, to take five 7-3 and one 6-4 heat wins, in their six races together. This gave the North & East team an 11 points win over the South & South Wales, with the Midlands team a further 15 points behind.
Tyldesley Typhoons regained the overall series lead, by taking the win on the night. Frank White top scored with 22 points, with good support from Chloe Warn and Jessica Hindley. John White rode to a 24 points maximum for Astley Hurricanes, as they took second place on the night. Duncan Whalley provided strong support, with 21 points. Series leaders Gin Pit Storm had two riders missing, so finished third on the night, despite a fine 22 points score from Charlie Burgess.
Just two match points separate all three teams, so everything to race for in the last two rounds of the series!
