NINETEEN-year-old Leigh boxer Paddy Hewitt has the won the England Boxing National Senior Elite Welterweight title.
Hewitt follows in the footsteps of World Champions Joe Calzaghe, Colin Jones and Randolph Turpin in winning the National Amateur crown.
The Leigh ABC boxer, who has trained at Leigh Boxing & Fitness Gym since the age of eight, is already a Youth & Junior National Champion & England International.
Competing in his first senior competition, he boxed six times in four weeks to win the title in London Docklands.
Hewitt is now officially ranked Number One Welterweight in England and has been invited to an assessment at GB in Sheffield for the Great Britain Olympic Squad.
The 19-year-old is not the only talent in his family as his twin brother Will, who also trains at Leigh Boxing & Fitness Gym, is also a three-time National Champion & England International, who competed in the Youth European Championships in Bulgaria in 2019.
