LEIGH Leopards boosted their Super League play-off hopes with a 32-12 win at London Broncos.

Battling London were level after an hour as they looked to move off the foot of the table, but late tries from Kai O'Donnell, Gareth O'Brien and Aaron Pene earned the Leopards a third straight win.

London started with intent when Lee Kershaw's interception shifted momentum in their favour and they became camped on Leigh's try-line.

The quick-thinking Oli Leyland retrieved the ball and produced a cute chip into space which was met by Sam Davis who slid over to give London a dream start.

But the visitors grew into the game and created openings before they responded with a try of their own.

A kick was sent long into the corner which was met by the speedy Darnell McIntosh who touched down, but Zak Hardaker missed the kick from a difficult angle to leave London 6-4 up.

Leigh's attacking success continued after the restart with another well-worked move. O'Brien kicked into a gap and Frankie Halton picked up and crossed the line to give the Leopards the lead.

Broncos showed positives signs with the ball in hand up to that point but they struggled dealing with Leigh's physicality.

Ricky Leutele this time used his size to power his way over to add a third try for the visitors.

However, Hardaker missed his third conversion attempt when his effort hit the upright, leaving Leigh just 12-6 up at half-time.

Broncos needed to find a response after the interval and they did just that through the ever-reliable Josh Rourke, who claimed his eighth try in as many Super League matches.

London had worked their way up the pitch and Davis produced a wonderful popped pass inside to the marauding Rourke who charged, spun and pushed off defenders to crash over.

The composed Leyland converted the kick as Mike Eccles' men levelled at 12-12.

Leigh made the correct choice to attempt to kick a penalty and this time Hardaker got points on the board from a favourable position in front of the sticks.

Leopard began to turn the screw and they extended their points cushion further when a series of quick passes put the ball in the hands of O'Donnell who spotted a gap to score.

Hardaker began to find a rhythm in front of the posts as he added the extras.

O'Brien and Pene then grabbed late tries as London's resolve was broken and Leigh moved to within a point of the top six.
