LEIGH Centurions will be losing the services of star scrum half Jamie Ellis.
The 21-year-old has signed with Hull FC for the 2012 and 2013 seasons.
Ellis, who has scored 20 tries in 17 games to help keep Leigh top of the Championship, was signed from St Helens in the build-up to season 2011 with the opportunity of improving his game and becoming a better player.
A Centurions statement said: “With his outstanding performances to date many Super League clubs have enquired about his services.
“He has decided to sign with Hull and will link up with them once he has finished his 2011 commitments at Leigh, where he is looking to continue his good form for the rest of the season.”
Ellis said: “I have loved playing for Leigh Centurions, but this was too good an opportunity to pass up.
“I came here looking to improve my game.
“I’m going to continue to do so for the rest of this season, and I’m grateful for the opportunity Leigh have given me to do so."
