AT least once a week I pass Leigh Town Hall on my way to the library.
When the new ‘stars’ were introduced recently I studied them all and I could not understand why James Hilton, Tom Burke and Colin Welland have not been included as they are much higher profile names than any of those displayed with some of them having international fame.
Some of the names suggested might have memorabilia in other areas of the town but surely this is the focal point?
And there is no harm in duplication.
Incidentally, I have read the three James Hilton books and saw the Colin Welland films well before I came to Leigh or knew about him being born here.
Another thought?
Are there any other ladies to consider?
